Ski mountaineering and snowshoeing – Mount Grem

Among picturesque old lead and zinc mines abandoned and adrenaline ridges.



Nice long hike approachable with any type of snow, very popular with ski mountaineers. The only precaution is to not get close to the frames that form the last stretch to the top.From Bergamo climb the Valseriana and at Ponte Nossa turn left and follow the signs to Oneta. Exceeded Oneta reaching on the right the Plassa fraction. From the hamlet go towards northeastreaching a stable visible from the parking lot. Continue north along a path usually track that runs through a wooded strip, it will soon reach the Cascina Grumaldi (1907 m.s.l.m.). Continue in the ground always open to the north until you reach the Middle Baita (1447 m. S.l.m.) and then the Baita High (1631 m.s.l.m.). Bend to the left and go up the south west ridge that reaches the final ridge leading to the summit (2049 m.s.l.m.). The last stretch of the ridge is often characterized by the presence of large frames and should therefore path carefully.Along the way you will notice the large holes partially fenced. Are old lead and zinc mines abandoned for some years. Such mines accounted in the past for the inhabitants of one of the main work activities area.The descent is to be performed along the ascent route.
