The observatory of Maslana is a new educational structure addressed to mountain lovers and schoolclasses.
The observatory of Maslana is a new educational structure addressed to mountain lovers and schoolclasses. It has been built on the ruins of an old mountain hut, respecting the architectonical structure of the other mountain huts of Maslana. It has a wide hall which can hosts about fifty people, a kitchenette and toilet facilities. Heating is provided with a wood-stove and excursionists can have lunch in a warm place. Mirco Bonacrosi runs the observatory and he is always ready to share with the excursionists his experiences in mountain hiking and his knowledge of the flora, fauna and geology of the area. Every season of the year reveals curiosities and natural meeting which make unique these experiences. Summer leads us to the discovery of the flora and the fauna of high altitudes while winter excursions with snowshoes guide us through the discovery of the fauna which descend to the surroundings of villages to pass the winter months.
