The apartments are part of a block built in 1570 in a historic village . They were completely restructured in 1999/2000, attempting to maintain or bring out the characteristics of the building. The residence is 500 metres from the Donizetti Theatre in the centre of Bergamo and 1,000 metres from tho foot of the Upper City, a medieval hamlet surrounded by walls. The village has everything: bars, bakeries and cake shops, restaurants, supermarkets, delicatessens, pizzerias, specialised shops, jewellery shops, medium and high level boutiques, banks, Catholic churches – everything. It is possible to park in a public or serviced car park 100-200 metres from the residence, while roadside parking spaces are, as usual, available on a time basis. The Ol Giopì e la Margì restaurant is in the same address. It’s extensive and well- balanced menu has all the dishes typical of the local cuisine, accompanied by excellent wines from the Bergamascan valleys. If required, the restaurant also provides the opportunity of being able to order dinner from the apartments, which is then brought to your room at no extra cost, as if it had been eaten in the restaurant itself (catering service).
The OL GIOPI’ E LA MARGİ was established on 27 October 1983 and is the direct expression of the taste and the dining tradition in an ample sense of the produce of the Bergamasca and Lombardy territories. It is within the historic suburb of the lower Bergamo city in an 18th century building of vaulted structure in rough hewn brick, characteristic of the typical inns of times gone by. It offers a regional cuisine with “revisited” typical local dishes of a more modern and current idiom, as well as innumerable recipes created with the area’s produce. The courtesy and attention to the customer are, for us, inescapable characteristics as is the quality of our menu.
